TL;DR
Engineering Process Specialist (Switchgear Manufacturing): Developing consistent engineering and manufacturing standards, documentation, and work practices across nVent Switchgear facilities with an accent on technical documentation, design standards, and process consistency. Focus on translating engineering and manufacturing knowledge into repeatable processes, facilitating cross-functional reviews, and improving quality and operational performance through standardization.
Location: On-site Monday through Friday in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, United States, with up to 15% travel to Fulton, Missouri, or other Switchgear manufacturing sites.

What you will do
- Support consistent engineering and manufacturing practices across multiple Switchgear production facilities.
- Create and maintain engineering manuals, work instructions, process guides, drawings, standards, and engineering change documentation.
- Translate engineering and manufacturing knowledge into clear, repeatable processes and documentation.
- Support design standards, standard assemblies, process improvement, and standardization initiatives.
- Facilitate reviews, workshops, and cross-functional discussions with engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Help implement new standards through training, communication, adoption activities, and effectiveness monitoring.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in engineering technology, mechanical design, drafting and design, manufacturing technology, engineering technician studies, or a related technical field; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Ideally, 2+ years of related design or engineering experience creating work instructions, procedures, engineering drawings, design standards, manufacturing standards, or drawing revisions.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software and the ability to interpret technical drawings and assemblies.
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, production, product development, or continuous improvement in an industrial environment.
- Strong written communication, independent prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to travel up to 15% and work on-site in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Nice to have
- Experience creating or modifying 3D models and drawings.
- Familiarity with fabrication, assembly, welding, wiring, or electromechanical manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement efforts.
