TL;DR
Client Leader, Public Safety (Architecture/Project Management): Leading large-scale public safety architecture projects in collaboration with clients, project managers, vendors, consultants, and interdisciplinary design teams with an accent on client relationships, contract negotiations, scope, fees, and project financial performance. Focus on coordinating multidisciplinary delivery, managing schedules and budgets, ensuring design quality and regulatory compliance, and mentoring project teams.

Location: Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, or Houston, Texas, United States; four days in the office with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays

What you will do

  • Lead public safety projects for the Justice + Civic sector and manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project staffing, responsibilities, schedules, milestones, deliverables, vendors, consultants, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Support contract negotiations, scope and fee development, change requests, additional services, and Owner/Architect and Architect/Consultant agreements.
  • Oversee project invoicing, accounts receivable, financial performance, and alignment between fees, deliverables, and work completed.
  • Contribute to business development through RFP responses, proposals, and client interviews.
  • Lead and mentor project teams while maintaining design quality, client communication, budget, schedule, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or a related construction field; professional licensure is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of professional AEC experience, including at least 5 years in a client-facing role.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale architectural projects and working with state and local jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of business management, strategic planning, resource allocation, customer service, construction methods, materials, systems, building codes, and zoning requirements.
  • Proficiency in Vantagepoint, Planifi, Microsoft Suite, including Project, and standard A/E/I/P software.
  • Strong written, verbal, graphic communication, critical-thinking, time-management, listening, leadership, mentoring, and team-development skills.
