Transportation Planning Project Manager

Location: North Carolina; may be based out of offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Winston-Salem, or Wilmington.

What you will do

• Work within the transportation planning section and provide project-level technical expertise.
• Manage transportation planning and environmental projects, including budgets, schedules, sequencing, quality, and successful delivery.
• Plan, direct, and review medium- to large-sized environmental and planning assignments across transportation, water and wastewater, resources, and federal facilities programs.
• Prepare and analyze technical studies, NEPA/SEPA documents, and related reports.
• Coordinate or supervise technical and professional teams across local and regional offices.
• Develop client relationships, support marketing and business development, and coordinate public participation and multiple agencies.

Requirements

• Experience managing transportation planning and environmental projects.
• Ability to independently complete work and lead multidisciplinary technical and professional teams.
• Experience with project budgets, schedules, quality management, technical studies, and regulatory documentation.
• Ability to support client management, business development, public participation, and agency coordination.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• AICP certification.
• Local presence in North Carolina.
