Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor Automation)

Location: Remote - US; based in the Manassas, VA area. The role supports customer sites and may require domestic and international travel, on-call work, night shifts, weekends, and compressed work weeks.

Salary: $36.79–$49.78 USD per hour, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Install, modify, repair, test, upgrade, diagnose, and maintain equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions.
• Interface with customers, participate in operational meetings, and present service updates.
• Prepare service reports, project plans, training plans, certification matrices, and other documentation.
• Train customers and Brooks personnel in equipment operation and maintenance, and mentor less experienced service engineers.
• Drive continuous-improvement initiatives and support urgent equipment or production-line escalations.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline, technical certificate, or equivalent work experience.
• At least three years of experience providing electro-mechanical or electronics technical support and repair services.
• Experience with lasers, sensing devices, robotic positioning circuitry, microelectronics schematics, and digital circuits.
• Proficiency with PCs, Windows, and DOS-based operating systems.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, reliable transportation, and ability to obtain a passport for the term of employment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined or awkward spaces, climb ladders or scaffolding, use protective equipment, and work in a clean-room environment.
