Field Service Technician (Electronics)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; customer-site work with extensive travel, often 75% or greater. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Salary: $25–$30 per hour plus bonus.

What you will do

• Provide technical support for Panasonic SMT solutions and related factory automation equipment and software.
• Install, modify, repair, calibrate, refurbish, and maintain equipment at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot equipment and software issues, targeting resolution of repair activity within 24 hours of arrival.
• Manage onsite service projects, prioritize corrective actions, coordinate customers and internal teams, and complete service documentation.
• Train customers on basic equipment and software operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Support sales, the Technical Assistance Center, and factory teams with technical information, customer feedback, demonstrations, and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Two-year technical or vocational school education or relevant military training is required; a technical degree is preferred.
• Two to three years of industry experience is preferred.
• Ability to operate PCs and a range of software applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, initiative, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in factory production environments and confined spaces.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, often 75% or more, including short-notice domestic and international travel, weekends, holidays, and non-standard hours.
