Engineering Manager - FEA Lead (Marine Engineering)

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; onsite

Salary: $103,200–$164,500 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead a team of 4–6 analysis engineers while spending approximately 60% of the role on hands-on FEA and 40% on team leadership.
• Act as the primary technical expert in FEA and CAE, covering nonlinear materials, fatigue, dynamics, impact, and multiphysics interactions.
• Develop and validate advanced analysis methods for engines, drive systems, electrified propulsion, and structural components.
• Mentor junior, mid-level, and senior analysts on modeling, simulation setup, scripting, correlation, and results interpretation.
• Coordinate work packages between onsite and offshore teams, managing timelines, communication, quality, and consistency.
• Partner with design, test, and manufacturing teams on DFMEA inputs, trade-off studies, product architecture, reports, and engineering decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Computer-Aided Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineers performing FEA with Abaqus, Ansys, or similar commercial software.
• Strong understanding of statics, dynamics, engineering mechanics, and materials.
• Experience or exposure to numerical methods and engineering analysis.
• Ability to work onsite in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on solid mechanics, vibrations, dynamics, finite element methods, mechanics of materials, fatigue theory, IC engines, or e-machines.
• Experience with dynamic and explicit dynamic FEA, multibody dynamics, nonlinear stress analysis, fatigue analysis, mesh generation, and model setup.
• Experience with HPC clusters running Linux and Slurm.
• Working knowledge of conventional engines, marine propulsion systems, and test instrumentation.
