Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; on-site role

Estimated starting salary: $165,010.21–$226,889.04 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

  • Manage mechanical engineering discipline teams through program execution for aerospace and defense products and services.
  • Support staffing plans, schedules, budgets, bids, estimates, and risk mitigation for program work packages.
  • Allocate engineering resources and ensure the availability of effective tools, processes, and training.
  • Lead the development, maturation, documentation, and approval of product-level designs.
  • Collaborate on engineering hiring, onboarding, mentorship, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and career development.
  • Represent engineering in management meetings and provide technical direction as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline.
  • Typically 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, including 4+ years of management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical design principles, parametric design, model-based definition, material and hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
  • Experience with computer-aided engineering tools, analysis, and simulation, plus the ability to work in multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with GD&T according to ASME Y14.5, CATIA 3DExperience, and ASME Y14.100 drafting standards.
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering, 3D scanning, hand-surveying, and additive manufacturing.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management, Microsoft Project, technical interviewing, mentorship, and training.
  • Background in aerospace and defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. military.
