VP of Product & Technical Strategy (RF/Satellite Communications)

Location: Los Angeles, CA; on-site

Salary: $225,000–$350,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the roadmap across current and next-generation RF, DSP, and satellite communications product lines, including prioritization, variant strategy, and lifecycle planning.
• Translate customer mission requirements into product strategy, roadmap decisions, and repeatable opportunity qualification frameworks.
• Lead product positioning and enablement through product briefs, capability matrices, competitive differentiation, and customer-facing roadmap narratives.
• Establish product operating rhythms connecting engineering execution, customer timelines, requirements intake, and business priorities.
• Partner with the CEO and engineering leadership on portfolio strategy, build-versus-customize decisions, and long-term product architecture.
• Build the product function from the ground up and scale a product team as the company grows.

Requirements

• Deep technical fluency in RF systems, DSP, satellite communications, Software Defined Radio, or adjacent aerospace and defense hardware.
• Experience translating complex customer requirements into product strategy and roadmap decisions for hardware or deeply technical systems.
• Strong commercial judgment across sales cycles, proposals, customer commitments, and market positioning.
• Ability to bring product discipline to a fast-moving, engineering-led environment and communicate effectively in technical and executive contexts.
• Entrepreneurial, hands-on approach with comfort operating in ambiguity and building a function from zero.
• Applicants must be eligible to work with U.S. Government space technology under ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the necessary authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience serving defense, national security, or space customers.
• Hands-on experience with SDR platforms, modems, waveforms, phased arrays, or ground systems.
• Familiarity with government contracting and proposal processes such as SBIR, BAA, and OTA.
• Experience scaling a technical business from custom engineering toward repeatable product lines.
