TL;DR
Product Manager (Mission Planning) (Aerospace/SaaS): Leading the development of mission-planning capabilities that translate spacecraft operational objectives into executable plans with an accent on scheduling, operational constraints, multi-party coordination, and automation. Focus on scaling planning workflows from individual spacecraft to large fleets, improving scheduling effectiveness, and balancing customer needs, usability, and long-term product health.

Location: Hybrid in Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; or Washington, DC

Salary: $120K–$180K annually, plus equity

What you will do

  • Own the roadmap and long-term vision for Mission Planning, including requirements, user stories, success metrics, and prioritization.
  • Translate operational problems into intuitive, scalable product capabilities with engineering and design.
  • Research workflows used by mission operators, payload operators, mission planners, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop planning and scheduling capabilities for spacecraft activities, ground contacts, payload operations, resources, dependencies, and changing mission conditions.
  • Design workflows for multi-party coordination, permissions, activity requests, status visibility, and operational boundaries.
  • Track planning effectiveness and improve the product through customer feedback and metrics such as scheduling success, operator intervention, utilization, and automation adoption.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience, preferably in aerospace, schedule optimization, autonomous vehicle operations, or complex technical SaaS.
  • Experience owning product roadmaps and delivering complex features end-to-end.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
  • Ability to understand complex user workflows and translate them into clear product experiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, cross-functional leadership, and prioritization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in geospatial studies, computer science, aerospace, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with satellite mission planning, spacecraft operations, ground segment systems, or aerospace scheduling.
  • Experience designing products for multiple user personas with different roles, permissions, and operational authority.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance at Secret level or higher.
