Focus on finite element and multiphysics simulation, thermal and electrical analysis, laboratory validation, and collaboration on actuator models and control strategies.

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work arrangements may include in-office and remote work depending on role requirements.

Base salary: $105,593.46–$142,861.74 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

Company

hirify.global develops precision robotics, integrated automation systems, vacuum systems, and contamination-control solutions for semiconductor manufacturing.

What you will do

  • Design and optimize electromagnetic actuators, magnetic circuits, coils, permanent magnet assemblies, linear motors, and Halbach arrays.
  • Develop systems for magnetic levitation, propulsion, precision six-degree-of-freedom motion, and closed-loop control.
  • Build and validate finite element and multiphysics models using tools such as Ansys Maxwell, JMAG, COMSOL, and Altair Flux.
  • Analyze force generation, force ripple, cogging, power losses, magnetic saturation, eddy currents, thermal limits, and actuator stiffness.
  • Design laboratory fixtures and prototypes, execute experiments, analyze test data, and prepare verification documentation.
  • Collaborate with controls, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and reliability engineers on design reviews and technical improvements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, Applied Physics, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in electromagnetic system design, electric machines, motion systems, or related technologies.
  • Experience with electromagnetic actuators, electric motors or generators, magnetic circuits, permanent magnets, coil and winding design, or linear motors.
  • Experience with electromagnetic finite element analysis, thermal analysis, experimental validation, and engineering data analysis.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, LabVIEW, or comparable engineering software.
  • Employment eligibility in the United States is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

  • Experience with precision motion systems, robotics, semiconductor automation equipment, magnetic levitation, or planar motors.
  • Experience correlating simulation models with laboratory results.
  • Experience with patents, invention disclosures, technical publications, or electromechanical product development through production.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative work across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) plan.
  • Company-paid holidays and flexible vacation for exempt employees.
  • Inclusive, equal-opportunity workplace with disability accommodations available.
