Systems Engineer IV (Semiconductor)

Location: Gloucester, MA, United States. Relocation eligible; travel required up to 20% of the time.

Salary: $140,000–$192,500 per year, plus potential bonus and stock awards.

What you will do

• Own system-level requirements, architecture, and performance for complex semiconductor equipment subsystems.
• Lead system integration, trade studies, design reviews, and cross-functional technical decisions.
• Conduct root cause analysis for field and factory issues and define corrective and preventive actions.
• Own qualification and validation plans for performance, reliability, and customer acceptance.
• Support NPI programs from concept through qualification, release, and field ramp.
• Drive improvements in uptime, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and production scalability while supporting customer escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, product development, or semiconductor capital equipment.
• Strong experience with complex electromechanical systems and system integration.
• Demonstrated experience leading root cause investigations and reliability improvements.
• Ability to work independently on ambiguous, high-impact problems and influence cross-functional technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with vacuum systems, robotics, motion control, or wafer-handling subsystems.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, PFMEA, qualification methodologies, and structured problem-solving tools.
• Experience supporting fab environments and customer-facing escalations.
