Electrical Engineer (Transformer Design)

Salary: $115,300–$170,400 per year

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and validate transformers, magnetic components, electronic circuits, and related hardware.
• Lead hardware design reviews and contribute to magnetic component, hardware, and system-level specifications.
• Develop test plans, oversee or execute qualification testing, analyze results, and document findings.
• Manage project plans, schedules, labor estimates, and hardware projects of moderate complexity.
• Coordinate engineering activities with R&D, manufacturing, purchasing, magnetics engineering, and technicians.
• Mentor and direct associate engineers and technicians while improving engineering processes, tools, and test capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically 6+ years of experience in at least two relevant areas, including transformer or inductor design, analog or digital circuit design, power supply design, electromagnetic simulation, statistical analysis, or engineering analysis.
• Ability to mentor others and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong written, verbal, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and take on new responsibilities.
• Satisfactory background check and negative drug test results required.

Nice to have

• Leadership experience or training.
• Strong project management knowledge and skills.
• Knowledge of transformer design, switch-mode power supplies, industrial controls, three-phase and electric power systems, or electric utility telecommunications.
