Electrical Engineer V (Semiconductor Equipment)

Location: Austin, TX; travel required up to 20% of the time; relocation eligible.

Salary: $148,000.00–$203,500.00

What you will do

• Design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic assemblies, layouts, schematics, drawings, and equipment systems.
• Perform engineering analysis, generate test reports, create product-release documentation, and develop technical solutions.
• Coordinate component procurement and assembly, identify sources for critical parts, and resolve technical issues.
• Take product development efforts from systems architecture and engineering through design, documentation, build, testing, and release.
• Develop and test motion-control systems, including motor and encoder selection, drive tuning, control algorithms, mathematical models, and simulations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, physics, and other teams while conducting hands-on experiments and testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Expertise in electrical engineering, software, and motion controls, with a broad technical background and willingness to learn new technologies and methods.
• Experience with AC and DC power and signal distribution, cabling design, schematic creation, sensor selection and integration, EMI/EMC mitigation, and semiconductor and safety requirements for electrical designs.
• Knowledge of motor and encoder sizing and selection, motor and drive tuning, real-time control algorithms, and mathematical modeling of mechanical or general systems.
• Ability to develop higher-level code for test stands and proficiency, knowledge, or willingness to become proficient in control-system techniques, modeling, simulation, MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and controls hardware or systems such as Delta Tau, CGMA, or CGA.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, conduct experiments and testing, resolve technical and organizational conflicts, and communicate effectively with senior management, colleagues, and team members.
• Ability to lead or manage other engineers in electrical engineering efforts across small or large product-development projects and teams.
• Passion for hands-on development, including building test stands, testing designs and code, and working beyond CAD activities.
