Electrical Engineer V (Motion Controls)

What you will do

• Design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic assemblies, layouts, schematics, drawings, cabling, and signal distribution systems.
• Develop motion-control solutions, including motor and encoder selection, drive tuning, real-time control algorithms, and system models.
• Take product development projects from systems architecture through engineering, documentation, assembly, testing, and release.
• Perform engineering analysis and experiments, generate test reports, and validate electrical and controls performance.
• Coordinate component procurement and assembly, identify sources for critical parts, and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and physics engineers, including leading electrical engineering efforts when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience with electrical power and signal distribution, cabling, schematics, sensors, and EMI/EMC mitigation.
• Knowledge of control-system techniques, modeling, simulation, motors, encoders, and drives.
• Experience or willingness to develop proficiency with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and controls hardware and systems.
• Ability to conduct hands-on development and testing, communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and lead engineering efforts.
• Travel is required up to 20% of the time.
