Forward Deployed Software Engineer (Defense)

Location: Paris, France; on-site. The role involves significant domestic and international travel and frequent on-site customer work.

What you will do

• Integrate software platforms with customer systems by developing interfaces and connectors and validating end-to-end data flows.
• Configure, customize, parameterize, deploy, and commission solutions for operational environments.
• Support on-premises releases and updates while maintaining the stability of deployed instances.
• Debug operational software issues on site and coordinate resolution with structured documentation.
• Translate recurring integration and customization needs into reusable product capabilities.
• Work directly with customer technical teams and maintain detailed integration and deployment records.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of software engineering experience with hands-on systems integration, application configuration, and customization.
• Strong end-to-end engineering skills covering software development, configuration, debugging, and deployment.
• Experience with Linux, network architecture, communication protocols, and enterprise data links.
• Systems-thinking ability across integrated systems and external interfaces.
• Customer-facing maturity, autonomy, procedural rigor, and a strong safety mindset in mission-critical environments.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; the role requires a high travel rate and significant on-site presence.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with enterprise software standards, protocols, and interoperability standards.
• Prior forward-deployed or customer-facing software engineering experience.
• Experience integrating with third-party enterprise or operational environments.
• French language skills.
