Senior Software Engineer (Distributed Systems)

Location: Hybrid workplace in Bordeaux, Grenoble, Lyon, Montpellier, Nantes, Paris, Sophia Antipolis, France; Madrid, Spain; or Tel Aviv, Israel

Build foundational platforms powering applications and processing billions of events per second in real time.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate foundational distributed systems in production.
• Build fault-tolerant, horizontally scalable solutions for multi-tenant environments.
• Develop backend services using Go, Java, Rust, C++, and other languages.
• Use Kafka, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and other open-source components.
• Own meaningful parts of the service and improve durability, availability, latency, and operability.

Requirements

• Significant backend programming experience with Go, Java, Rust, C++, or comparable languages.
• Experience solving high-durability and low-latency engineering problems.
• Ability to work at the low level when needed, with a focus on simple designs and performance.
• BS, MS, PhD in a scientific field, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools, validate their output, and refine AI-generated code.
