Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote from the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, or Belgium

hirify.global builds AI infrastructure, a Web App, and developer-facing APIs.

What you will do

• Build and maintain internal and developer-facing APIs and services for the Web App and developer experience.
• Develop public API functionality, including task types, validation, routing, and WebSocket/REST behavior.
• Own and maintain the Admin API and internal Admin panel.
• Work with usage, billing, customer data, and Stripe to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Investigate production issues and security vulnerabilities, and write, test, and review maintainable code.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, frontend, backend, and other engineering teams while contributing to technical decisions.

Requirements

• Strong experience building backend systems and APIs.
• Strong programming experience in one or more backend languages and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
• Experience building reliable, maintainable, and well-tested production systems.
• Understanding of API design, asynchronous workloads, and distributed systems.
• Strong foundations in security, reliability, performance, communication, ownership, and autonomous decision-making.
• Comfort using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining responsibility for code quality, security, and correctness.

Nice to have

• Experience with PHP, Symfony, or Doctrine.
• Experience with WebSockets and public APIs or developer-facing products.
• Experience with usage-based billing, credits, or financial data.
• Experience contributing to architecture decisions and mentoring engineers.
