Medical Director

Location: Remote, Arizona

Salary: $225,700–$428,900 per year

What you will do

• Direct medical management, utilization review, cost containment, credentialing, and quality improvement activities.
• Review complex, controversial, experimental, unusual, and new medical services for medical necessity and appropriate payment.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives for capitated providers and evaluate adverse utilization and clinical quality trends.
• Conduct rounds for high-risk patients and coordinate care with care management and clinical teams.
• Collaborate with providers, appeals teams, medical and pharmacy consultants, and physician committees.
• Support provider network development, market expansion, physician education, and representation before state and other committees.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
• Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists or the American Osteopathic Association.
• Current unrestricted Arizona MD or DO license is required.
• Active medical practice and experience with utilization management preferred.
• Knowledge of quality accreditation standards preferred.
• Ability to support weekend and holiday business operations when needed.

• Coursework in health administration, health financing, insurance, or personnel management.
