Behavioral Health Manager (Healthcare)

Location: Remote; Massachusetts residency is not required, but proximity to Massachusetts or a surrounding state is preferred. Candidates must hold an active independent behavioral health license and be eligible for Massachusetts licensure.

Salary: $97,000–$128,000 annual

What you will do

• Provide clinical and administrative supervision for the Massachusetts behavioral health team.
• Manage clinicians and community health partners, including panel size, productivity, staffing, and performance metrics.
• Lead behavioral health quality and safety reviews, transitions-of-care initiatives, and process improvements.
• Partner with medical, nursing, provider, and operations leaders to address challenges and achieve market objectives.
• Manage budgets and ensure responsible use of behavioral health resources.
• Provide short-term therapy, clinical support, crisis intervention, urgent escalation response, and staff training as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Active LICSW, LCSW, LISW, LMHC, or equivalent independent license in at least one state, with eligibility to obtain a Massachusetts license within the required timeframe.
• Five years of experience after completing a master’s degree.
• At least three years of behavioral health management experience.
• Experience in behavioral health leadership, including substance use disorders or serious mental illness, and business operations.
• Ability to provide qualified clinical supervision for staff pursuing independent licensure.
