Senior Content Strategist

Location: Ideally based in the Chicago area for a light hybrid onsite/remote work model; remote locations across the United States are also accepted.

Base salary: $69,600–$104,400 annually, with potential additional earnings through incentive programs.

What you will do

• Develop content strategies, messaging frameworks, editorial calendars, brand guidelines, content models, and publishing workflows.
• Shape governance and operational frameworks that enable repeatable, scalable content execution.
• Develop SEO and Generative Engine Optimization strategies to improve digital and AI-powered search visibility.
• Create and structure content for websites, collateral, applications, and other digital experiences.
• Conduct content audits, gap analyses, and subject-matter-expert interviews.
• Facilitate client workshops and presentations while collaborating across disciplines to align stakeholders and deliver digital solutions.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of content strategy experience; agency or consultancy experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, writing, or journalism.
• Experience with content strategy, messaging and channel frameworks, SEO/GEO, and audience or market research methods.
• Knowledge of content design principles, content models, templates, content management systems, and publishing workflows.
• Familiarity with AI’s potential to augment content work and the ability to critically evaluate AI outputs and implications.
• Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, business insight, empathy, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Semrush, GA4, YouGov, WordPress, or Sitecore.
• Hands-on proficiency with various AI tools.
• Experience in multicultural marketing.
