Senior Cost Manager (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid work with a mix of in-office and remote arrangements depending on role requirements and business needs

Base salary: $132,456.81–$179,206.28 USD annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the cost accounting function for manufacturing operations and ensure accurate inventory and product cost reporting.
• Manage standard cost roll activities, cost maintenance, item cost reviews, and product costing exceptions.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase price, and work order variances and provide actionable recommendations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory schedules.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance leadership on cost impact analysis and corrective actions.
• Identify control gaps, support audits, and drive improvements in costing, reporting, analytics, and internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Experience with people management, supervision, or team leadership.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills, along with experience using ERP systems such as Oracle.
• Experience using AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot or advanced analytics platforms to improve reporting and analysis.
• Ability to work in the Chelmsford, Massachusetts hybrid arrangement; employment eligibility in the United States is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion Cost Management, Inventory, Manufacturing, Adaptive, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with PPV management, inventory reserves, work order variance analysis, SOX compliance, internal controls, or audit support.
• Background in semiconductor, industrial automation, electronics, high-tech, or complex manufacturing environments.
