Procurement Category Manager (Professional Services)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days per week

Salary: $88,000–$190,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Develop and execute category strategies for Professional Services, including Consulting, Legal, HR, Finance, and BPO, while flexibly managing additional indirect categories.
• Drive the full Procure-to-Pay lifecycle, including requirements scoping, RFP preparation, SOW drafting, contract redlining, purchase orders, invoice coding, and fulfillment.
• Lead strategic sourcing and negotiations covering pricing, SLAs, risk-mitigation terms, and vendor-pool sustainability.
• Define and report procurement KPIs such as PO cycle time, spend under management, and competitive RFP coverage.
• Advise senior stakeholders, align cross-functional teams, and manage suppliers through onboarding, QBRs, and SLA tracking.
• Improve and digitize procurement workflows, identifying opportunities to automate and scale sourcing and contracting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience, including Professional Services and multiple indirect spend categories.
• Hands-on experience with the complete Source-to-Pay workflow, including sourcing, contracting, purchase orders, and invoice issue resolution.
• Strong analytical skills for spend analysis, cost-saving identification, and data-driven business cases.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including trusted-advisor work with senior executives.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and changing requirements in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.

Nice to have

• MBA or professional certification such as CPSM, CPM, or PMP.
• Experience in a security-first or highly regulated environment.
• Process mapping, change management, and continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to present complex deals and recommendations to executive leadership.
