Specialist - Senior Category Manager - Consulting

Location: Chicago, IL, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $114,700–$194,900 USD per year, plus a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.

What you will do

• Develop enterprise-wide procurement, strategic sourcing, and category management practices and strategies.
• Lead sourcing events, including RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, renewals, new product negotiations, project management, and award processes.
• Review, draft, negotiate, and administer NDAs, master agreements, statements of work, and other contracts.
• Manage supplier performance through activity reporting, business reviews, scorecards, supplier rationalization, and demand management.
• Monitor procurement performance metrics, support internal and external audits, and maintain contract records in the contract management system.
• Partner with business stakeholders and category managers to implement procurement solutions, communicate policy, mentor colleagues, and facilitate change.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain management, and procurement best practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, leadership, mentoring, organizational, strategic, collaborative, and change-management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, including PeopleSoft.
• Master’s degree in business, supply chain management, or finance is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Consulting and professional services category management experience.
• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Professional procurement or supply chain certification, such as CSCP or CPM.
