Electrical EIT/Designer (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; local candidates preferred.

Salary: $70,644–$108,480 annually.

What you will do

• Design electrical systems for new construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvement projects.
• Prepare designs for normal and emergency power, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
• Perform electrical load analysis, voltage-drop and short-circuit calculations, and equipment sizing.
• Develop single-line diagrams, panel schedules, riser diagrams, layouts, plans, details, schedules, and specifications.
• Produce coordinated construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD, maintain BIM standards, and support model coordination.
• Investigate existing field conditions, review contractor submittals and shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and coordinate with project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• At least 1 year of A/E consulting experience or relevant internship/co-op experience; 3 years preferred.
• Strong computer skills with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, International Building Code, NFPA standards, and applicable energy codes.
• Experience with building electrical systems and BIM workflows; candidates must be committed to pursuing professional registration.
• Ability to work in or near Boston is preferred.

Nice to have

• EIT certification or the ability and expectation to obtain it; candidates hired without EIT certification may be titled Electrical Designer.
• Experience with sustainable building design, energy-efficient systems, or LEED-certified projects.
