TL;DR
Regulatory Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical): Developing regulatory expertise and supporting product listings, compliance evaluations, laboratory certifications, and standards application for outdoor power equipment with an accent on UL, CSA, TUV, ETL, and SGS requirements. Focus on evaluating electronic circuits and new product constructions, preparing certification documentation, training laboratory personnel, and maintaining readiness for regulatory audits.

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; office-based role

hirify.global Outdoor Power Equipment develops and supports outdoor power equipment products and their regulatory certifications.

What you will do

  • Manage UL, CSA, TUV, ETL, and SGS product listings, file changes, withdrawals, and variation notices.
  • Evaluate new product constructions and electronic circuits against applicable regulatory standards.
  • Work with product design engineers, Product Management, Engineering, Quality, TDI, Product Safety, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support laboratory CTDP status, equipment readiness, personnel preparation, and annual regulatory audits.
  • Train laboratory personnel on standards and testing requirements.
  • Prepare reports, figures, illustrations, and datasheets for product listings.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work from the Anderson, SC office.
  • Experience evaluating, testing, and reviewing electronic circuits.
  • Ability to explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences in emails and meetings.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs, communicate across functional areas internationally, and work independently.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar field is preferred.

Nice to have

  • Experience applying regulatory standards to product designs.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other test and measurement equipment.
  • Knowledge of Li-Ion battery electronics, Li-Ion charging systems, BMS hardware and software, and IEC/UL 60730 software evaluations.
  • Schematic interpretation or design and soldering skills.
  • International travel experience.
