TL;DR

Location: Full-time, on-site at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

Salary: $90,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

  • Manage the Facility Asset Management Plan and independently coordinate project authorizations.
  • Plan and program appropriated-fund maintenance, repair, and construction projects using Air Force requirements and procedures.
  • Define project scopes and requirements for current and future mission needs.
  • Advise the Engineering Flight on preparing, coordinating, and processing DD Form 1391 documentation for FSRM and MILCON projects.
  • Develop rough-order-of-magnitude construction cost estimates, project justifications, space calculations, site plans, and funding documentation.
  • Coordinate with Civil Engineering Operations Flight, mission partners, higher headquarters, and other stakeholders on requirements, approvals, and funding timelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a governmental background check.
  • Knowledge of the Unified Facilities Criteria and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in person on site and collaborate daily with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.

Nice to have

  • At least 3 years of Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron programming experience.
  • Completion of AFIT courses WMGT 331, WMGT 417, WMGT 423, WENG 400, and WENG 500.
  • Experience with federal contracts or Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron operations.
