What you will do

  • Lead construction efforts on complex, multi-operational transportation projects.
  • Coordinate personnel, assign work, and oversee junior staff throughout project execution.
  • Monitor construction activities for legal, safety, environmental, and project-specification compliance.
  • Conduct field observations and final inspections across projects of varying sizes.
  • Document certified work, record quantities, and maintain information in record-keeping or contract administration systems.
  • Finalize post-construction quantities and inspections, prepare and negotiate change orders and pay estimates, and track contractor progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with WisDOT AASHTOWare Project (AWP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Onsite construction experience and the ability to work in varied weather conditions and terrain.
  • Highway Technician Certification Program (HTCP) certification or ability to obtain it.
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future; a valid driver’s license and compliant driving record are required.

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of construction experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Leadership experience in construction settings.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D and experience in civil or highway design.
