Engineering Manager - DevOps

Location: Remote within the United States; Eastern Time Zone preferred, with availability for core business hours from 8 AM to 5 PM ET and travel to the Boston area approximately once per quarter.

Salary: $125,000–$175,000 annually, depending on experience and location.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of two DevOps engineers.
• Own the DevOps roadmap, infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, and release processes.
• Make architectural decisions, review infrastructure changes, and improve developer experience and deployment reliability.
• Oversee monitoring, alerting, incident response, root cause analysis, backup and recovery readiness, and disaster recovery planning.
• Guide secure infrastructure practices and optimize AWS usage for scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Track operational metrics, evaluate tooling, support hiring, and use AI coding assistants and automation tools in daily workflows.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• 2+ years leading engineers directly or serving as a technical lead for a small DevOps or platform team.
• Hands-on production experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and serverless services.
• Experience operating production systems with a focus on reliability, observability, incident response, security, secrets management, and access control.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, networking, shell troubleshooting, and scripting or software development with Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or regulated-environment experience.
• Experience with AWS CDK, Terraform, PostgreSQL, application performance monitoring, and AWS cost optimization.
• Familiarity with compliance-minded engineering, developer experience improvements, and remote team operations.
• Experience with MUMPS in an InterSystems Cache/IRIS environment or AI-assisted development tools.
