Director of Engineering, Cloud & Reliability (AWS)

Location: Remote - USA

Salary: $209,500–$270,000 per year base salary for U.S.-based candidates, plus potential variable compensation.

What you will do

• Define and execute the long-term cloud infrastructure, platform, reliability, and security strategy.
• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of infrastructure and reliability engineers.
• Design and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure, including multi-region deployments and infrastructure-as-code.
• Lead the migration to Amazon EKS, containerization, and container orchestration.
• Transform CI/CD pipelines and implement GitOps, Terraform, and self-service infrastructure capabilities.
• Establish observability, incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, and compliance practices across hirify.global services.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
• 5+ years leading infrastructure teams of 5–15 engineers.
• Deep experience with AWS, including EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Terraform.
• Experience migrating applications to Kubernetes/EKS and implementing container-based architectures.
• Strong background in security practices, PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2, security automation, CI/CD, and GitOps.
• Expertise with DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana, monitoring, observability, and alerting strategies.
