TL;DR
Director of Engineering (Cloud & Reliability): Leading infrastructure transformation and establishing industry-leading reliability practices for a client experience platform with an accent on scalability, security, and high availability. Focus on migrating to Amazon EKS, implementing multi-region disaster recovery, and evolving Infrastructure-as-Code practices to support rapid growth.
Location: Remote (Must be based in the USA)
Salary: $209,500 - $270,000 per year

What you will do
- Define and execute the long-term infrastructure and security strategy to ensure system reliability as the company scales.
- Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure and reliability engineers, fostering a culture of operational excellence.
- Architect and implement modern practices including EKS migration, containerization, and advanced CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish comprehensive observability, monitoring, and incident response frameworks using DataDog.
- Design and implement hot-hot disaster recovery systems and business continuity planning across all services.
- Manage security and compliance frameworks including PCI, HIPAA, and SOC 2.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering.
- 5+ years of experience leading infrastructure teams of 5-15 engineers.
- Deep expertise with AWS (EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM) and Terraform.
- Proven track record of migrating applications to Kubernetes/EKS and implementing GitOps.
- Strong background in security automation and compliance (PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Expertise with monitoring tools such as DataDog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
