Engineering Manager - Cloud Networking (AWS)

Location: Hybrid; candidates must live within close proximity to a hub in Bloomington, Illinois, or Tempe, Arizona, and work both from home and in the office.

Salary: $151,500–$215,000 per year, plus potential annual incentive pay of up to 20% of base salary.

What you will do

• Lead the design, implementation, and operational support of AWS network architecture, including VPCs, IP address management, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, DNS, load balancing, private service connectivity, segmentation, and traffic inspection.
• Own the full AWS account lifecycle, including AWS Organizations, organizational units, service control policies, landing zones, identity integration, tagging, cost allocation, account hygiene, and compliance remediation.
• Drive self-service account provisioning by building infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline solutions that consistently apply networking, security, logging, and governance baselines.
• Partner with Enterprise Network Engineering, Cloud Security, Architecture, technical teams, business partners, and executive stakeholders.
• Build, coach, and develop an engineering team while balancing roadmap delivery, on-call responsibilities, operational resilience, capacity planning, and cost management.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience within enterprise technology and experience developing others.
• Working knowledge of AWS networking and enterprise network fundamentals, including VPC design, IP address management, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, hybrid connectivity, Route 53, DNS, load balancing, PrivateLink, VPC endpoints, routing, segmentation, and centralized traffic inspection.
• Familiarity with AWS Organizations, organizational unit design, service control policies, guardrails, landing zones, IAM, identity federation, tagging, and cost allocation.
• Experience delivering automation with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, and pipeline platforms.
• Understanding of cloud security controls, audit expectations, incident response, resiliency, capacity planning, and cost management in a regulated environment.
• Must be eligible to work lawfully in the United States immediately; visa sponsorship for U.S. work authorization is not available.
