Engineering Manager: Engineering Data Platform Enablement

Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington

Salary: $166,000–$258,000 annually, with possible performance-based incentives or bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead engineering delivery across BigQuery, GCP Looker, Metabase, and AWS workloads.
• Own platform reliability, incident response, on-call operations, capacity planning, and production health.
• Manage enterprise data-platform access provisioning, governance, security policies, and cost optimization.
• Establish LookML governance, development standards, deployment practices, and migration processes.
• Lead Conversational Analytics enablement, including Golden Query standards, agent development, adoption, and token-capacity planning.
• Set technical direction, hire and develop engineers, coach AI fluency, write code, build tooling, and review pull requests.

Requirements

• 2+ years leading engineering teams with accountability for delivery and people development.
• 5+ years building software, platforms, infrastructure, or data systems.
• Hands-on Python proficiency or equivalent, with current direct technical contribution expected.
• Strong GCP and/or AWS experience with Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience owning access-management programs at scale.
• Daily use of AI coding tools and a clear perspective on their impact on engineering work.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery, Looker, Metabase, Tableau, or MicroStrategy.
• Terraform, Kubernetes, Dataplex governance, or large-scale cloud cost optimization experience.
• Experience with SailPoint IdentityNow, SCIM group synchronization, Conversational Analytics, LLM-powered data tools, or semantic layers.
• Experience establishing an AI-first engineering practice or working in retail, e-commerce, or consumer organizations.
