Manager, Maintenance I (Plastics Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in a 24/7 plastics manufacturing facility; flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call emergency support may be required.

Salary: $80,000–$127,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians while promoting safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Plan and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for production equipment and facility systems.
• Maximize uptime of extrusion, converting, slitting, winding, mixing, material handling, utilities, and ancillary equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Analyze equipment failures, implement corrective actions, and improve reliability and maintenance KPIs.
• Manage contractors, spare parts, maintenance budgets, capital projects, records, and regulatory documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• At least 3 years of maintenance supervisory or management experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred; equivalent leadership experience considered.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, robotics, conveyors, pumps, compressors, chillers, hydraulics, and CMMS software.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, machine guarding, electrical controls, and industrial mechanical systems.
• Ability to work physically throughout a manufacturing facility, including exposure to heat, noise, machinery, dust, chemicals, heights, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with plastics manufacturing processes such as extrusion, converting, laminating, slitting, and winding.
• CMRP, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry, PLC/automation, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or electrical/mechanical journeyman certification.
