Maintenance Department Leader (Manufacturing)

Salary: $101,000–$131,300 annually

What you will do

• Oversee the financial and reliability performance of the maintenance department, including annual budgets and capital investments.
• Lead, coach, onboard, and develop Team Leaders and maintenance associates.
• Partner with bakery, business unit, and cross-functional leadership to implement profit-driving strategies and operational improvements.
• Set department priorities, facilitate structured problem-solving, and deliver KPIs for people, asset reliability, quality, safety, service, and cost.
• Promote safe work practices, regulatory compliance, product quality, and production execution.
• Drive continuous improvement, lean tool adoption, operational discipline, and change initiatives across manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• Five or more years of hands-on maintenance management experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
• Operational experience with electrical circuitry, refrigeration, fuel-burning equipment, and machine mechanics.
• Conceptual knowledge of PLC programming; PLC programming proficiency is preferred.
• Conceptual knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
• Familiarity with lean tools or a similar statistical process and control system.

Nice to have

• AIB certification.
• Engineering degree.
• Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing, benchmarking, and operational excellence programs.
