IT & MES Support Technician (MES)

Location: Garden Grove, California, United States; onsite 100% of the time on the manufacturing floor. Standard first shift, with occasional flexibility for early morning starts or crossover meetings.

Salary: $25–$30 USD per hour

What you will do

• Provide frontline support for MES and traceability systems used by machine operators, supervisors, and production staff.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and deploy factory-floor hardware including barcode scanners, label printers, thin clients, tablets, and operator workstations.
• Collaborate with process engineers, QA, maintenance, plant management, and senior IT staff to investigate recurring issues and test new MES configurations.
• Create, triage, and resolve help desk tickets in real time while documenting root causes and fixes.
• Perform password resets, manage Active Directory user accounts, and test local network connectivity.
• Conduct daily preventative checks on critical floor IT equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Windows 10/11 troubleshooting, PC hardware, and standard office applications.
• Strong analytical and prioritization skills for a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for translating technical issues between production staff and engineering teams.
• Ability to work onsite 100% of the time on the manufacturing floor and during the standard first shift.
• Ability to walk and stand on the plant floor, communicate in ambient factory noise, and occasionally lift basic IT equipment.

Nice to have

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing or plant-floor environment.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and how MES applications connect with factory equipment.
• Familiarity with IP addresses, switches, routers, and basic networking concepts.
