Mechanical Engineer II (Packaging Equipment)

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; travel up to 10% of the time.

What you will do

• Contribute to the mechanical design and development of new packaging equipment and products.
• Design mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and machine components with attention to manufacturability and performance standards.
• Create and dimension engineering, fabrication, installation, training, operator manual, and final assembly drawings using GD&T.
• Research and evaluate equipment, processes, and systems; design, conduct, and document R&D experiments.
• Support manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and service teams, including prototype fabrication with external vendors.
• Maintain drawing documentation, create bills of materials, process engineering change orders, and conduct root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years of machine design experience, including designing for manufacturability.
• Fluent use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD 2D.
• Knowledge of product handling, machine capabilities, assembly principles, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment eligibility is verified through E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Packaging equipment experience.
• SolidWorks CSWE or CSWP certification.
• Sheet metal experience and certification.
