Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Integration Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Milford or Warren, Michigan; report to the assigned location at least 3 times per week.

What you will do

• Lead integration of full-vehicle cross-functional co-simulation packages for vehicle dynamics and chassis controls.
• Develop and integrate multi-body and 1-D vehicle dynamics models for EV, PHEV, and ICE programs.
• Create and validate FMU-based embedded controller models and virtual ECUs for active chassis systems.
• Build serial communication interfaces using CAN, LIN, and Ethernet for SIL and HIL simulations.
• Validate virtual models and controller performance against vehicle data, including loads prediction and simulation analysis.
• Automate simulation workflows with MATLAB and Python, manage models with version control and SDM tools, and mentor less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to collaborate across technical teams while balancing theory with practical constraints.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, and J-1 support.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in a relevant engineering or computer science discipline, or 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Simpack, MSC ADAMS, CarSim, IPG CarMaker, or dSPACE VEOS.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, Git, and simulation data or PLM systems.
• Automotive hands-on experience, performance driving instruction, or participation in Baja SAE, Formula SAE, EcoCAR, PACE, or comparable programs.
