TL;DR

Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Integration Engineer: Leading integration of full-vehicle cross-functional co-simulation packages focused on vehicle dynamics and active chassis systems with an accent on virtual models for hardware and software behavior. Focus on aligning partners, developing multi-body and 1-D models, verifying FMU-based controllers, and validating simulations for EV, PHEV, and ICE programs.

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan or Warren, Michigan (expected to report to a specific location at least 3 times a week). No immigration sponsorship (H1-B, OPT, etc.). No relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Lead resolution of program issues by aligning co-simulation partners to meet technical and timing demands.
• Act as single point of contact for vehicle dynamics co-sim users, resolving usage concerns and forecasting resource needs.
• Design, develop, and integrate virtual models for active chassis systems (EBCM, EPS, ARS, SADS) into SIL and HIL platforms.
• Develop multi-body and 1-D vehicle dynamics models including mass, aero, brakes, steering, suspension, tires, propulsion, and sensors.
• Create and evaluate FMU-based embedded controller models and serial data interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) for ECU communication.
• Verify and validate integrated vECUs, communication systems, and vehicle models; develop test procedures and perform closed-loop learning.
• Debug embedded software in C/C++, develop automated scripts in MATLAB/Python, and manage models with SDM and GitHub.
• Define requirements for supplier co-sim packages and represent vehicle dynamics needs among peers.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Software Engineering or Computer Science (or related).
• 5+ years relevant experience.
• Proven ability to work in teams, balancing technical theory with practical limitations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD in relevant field.
• 10+ years experience.
• Automotive hands-on experience; performance driving instruction; SAE competitions.
• Experience with multibody tools (Simpack, MSC ADAMS), real-time 1-D tools (CarSim, IPG CarMaker), vECU (dSPACE VEOS).
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python/C++, Git, SDM/PLM systems.
