Trade Analyst (Trade Compliance)

Location: Portland, Oregon, USA; in-office position. Standard schedule is generally 8 AM–5 PM, with possible weekend and holiday coverage for specific functions.

What you will do

• Prepare Harmonized Tariff Schedule classifications for imported products.
• Classify exported products under Schedule B.
• Research and interpret Customs rulings to determine HTS classifications.
• Use the HTSUS schedule, Explanatory Notes, and other reference sources.
• Communicate with domestic and international client offices and maintain strong relationships.
• Perform other trade-related activities as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Customer service, interpersonal, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Competence with PCs and Microsoft Office applications.
• Comfort reviewing, analyzing, and manipulating data in Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to logically document and explain processes.
• Interest in obtaining a Brokerage License if not already held.

Nice to have

• Experience with Power BI, MS Access, or SharePoint.
• Existing Brokerage License.
