What you will do

  • Lead and manage the import compliance program across aerospace operations and global supply chains.
  • Develop scalable import procedures, work instructions, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, country of origin, customs valuation, and preferential trade claims.
  • Lead duty mitigation and customs recovery initiatives, including Section 301 and Section 232 strategies, free trade agreements, temporary importation, drawback, and repair/return programs.
  • Support audits, broker management, disclosures, protests, post-entry corrections, and government inquiries.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Shipping and Logistics, customs brokers, freight forwarders, government agencies, and international branches.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in import customs compliance, global trade, or international logistics; relevant degree holders require 8 years of experience, or 5 years with an advanced degree.
  • Licensed Customs Broker certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, import processes, HTS classification, tariff application, duty mitigation strategies, and free trade agreements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, defense, or high-technology manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of EAR, ITAR, and broader import/export compliance concepts.
  • Experience with customs protests, audits, disclosures, post-entry corrections, and duty drawback initiatives.
