Audiovisual Systems Designer, Entry-Level

Location: Cleveland, Ohio; Los Angeles, California; or Seattle, Washington, United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

Salary: $65,000–$80,000 USD per year.

What you will do

• Develop audiovisual system solutions with senior designers and interdisciplinary design teams.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation using applicable standards and BIM protocols.
• Apply QA/QC procedures and coordinate audiovisual input with architects, engineers, and consultants.
• Identify solutions to audiovisual design challenges using industry codes, standards, and best practices.
• Participate in design reviews, communicate deliverables, and manage assigned work against schedule and budget targets.
• Continue professional and technical development while sharing knowledge with peers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, architecture, or a related field involving audio and video equipment integration.
• 2–5 years of professional experience in audiovisual systems design or a related discipline.
• Experience designing audiovisual systems for commercial, education, or civic environments.
• Understanding of audiovisual components, signal flow, and design documentation; proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or similar software.
• AVIXA-Recognized AV Technologist certification at minimum, with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without work visa or residency sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with audiovisual control systems and related software platforms.
• CTS certification or progress toward certification.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations affecting audiovisual design.
• Interest in sustainable and technology-driven design solutions.
