Focus on setting up manual and CNC equipment, developing CAD/CAM and GD&T skills, and supporting prototype manufacturing with milling, turning, waterjet machining, and welding.

What you will do
- Learn and assist with the setup and operation of manual and CNC machine tools.
- Fabricate prototype parts, fixtures, gauges, tooling, and related components from engineering drawings, sketches, CAD models, and verbal instructions.
- Perform drilling, milling, turning, sawing, tapping, deburring, sanding, polishing, assembly, and finishing operations.
- Use calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, and other precision inspection equipment.
- Support preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and upkeep of prototype shop equipment.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams on prototype and development projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn machining fundamentals, blueprint reading, measurement techniques, and basic GD&T requirements.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, measuring equipment, and shop machinery.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely in a machine shop with exposure to noise, dust, and manufacturing equipment.
Nice to have
- Enrollment in or completion of a technical program in Machine Tool Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Previous coursework, vocational training, internship, co-op, or hands-on machining experience.
