Design Engineer 1 (Outdoor Power Equipment)

Location: Anderson, South Carolina, United States; onsite. Up to 25% domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Design and develop assigned outdoor power equipment components, sub-assemblies, and systems from concept through production release.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stacks, and technical specifications.
• Analyze design trade-offs involving performance, cost, weight, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Support prototype builds, design verification, durability, environmental, and abuse testing.
• Collaborate with product management, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, quality, suppliers, and global cross-functional teams.
• Support pilot builds, PPAP, engineering changes, product validation, and production ramp-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–3 years of design experience in consumer, industrial, or electromechanical products; internships and co-ops are considered.
• Experience with 3D CAD such as Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or an equivalent tool.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, results-driven product development environment.

Nice to have

• Product development or manufacturing internship or co-op experience.
• Familiarity with injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, machining, or related manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude and experience with prototype assembly or product testing.
