Field Service Technician/Assembler

Location: Fairfield, New Jersey, USA; travel domestically and internationally more than 75% of the time, with non-travel work performed in the plant.

Salary: $30.00–$40.00 per hour

What you will do

• Install, start up, commission, repair, and service Pace automated unscrambling machinery at customer locations.
• Troubleshoot machinery inefficiencies, make adjustments to achieve contracted performance, install upgrades, and conduct audits.
• Set up and test variable frequency drives and servo controllers.
• Train customer personnel and provide follow-up operator training.
• Generate detailed service reports and identify aftermarket opportunities such as upgrades, retrofits, services, and spare parts.
• Build, set up, and perform factory acceptance testing on new equipment, while supporting shop assembly between field assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma; an associate's degree in a related mechanical or electrical technical field is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background with custom machine startup, repair, or maintenance experience.
• Basic knowledge of Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers and the ability to read engineering designs and wiring schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for technical reports and training requirements.
• Strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and independent judgment skills.
• At least 3 years of equipment manufacturing and 3 years of machine repair experience preferred.
