Controls Technician (First Shift)

Location: Dayton, NJ, USA; onsite, first shift Monday–Friday

Salary: $38.39–$47.35 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve plant equipment and control systems to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate and secure documentation for PLC programs, printed logic, drive parameters, electronic files, and supporting software.
• Set up maintenance systems and select supporting electronic hardware and software.
• Evaluate electronic systems, facilitate PLC training, and identify solutions for obsolete or deficient systems.
• Participate in process improvements, new installations, make-ready activities, and mechanical or electrical projects.
• Perform preventive, scheduled, and breakdown maintenance as needed, including occasional weekend or night support.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial setting focused on electrical systems and PLCs.
• Strong electronic and PLC skills with proficient knowledge of Allen Bradley applications.
• Ability to work on electrical systems up to 480 volts and pass electrical skills and safety testing for Category 2 qualification.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and servo drives; proficiency in applicable software, programming languages, and printed logic.
• Ability to write, rewrite, and create operating programs, with an understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Proficient computer and general math skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Beckhoff PLCs.
