Intern Ag Lending (Agricultural Finance)

Location: Sycamore, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with up to 50% work from home. The internship is based at the Sycamore office and runs full-time through summer 2027. Interns must provide their own housing and transportation.

Base pay: $19–$20 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Assist a Financial Officer with agricultural and financial services for clients.
• Build relationships and network with clients, prospects, and agribusinesses.
• Learn to plan client calls, pre-screen prospects, and provide outstanding service.
• Support new loan origination, renewals, loan analysis, and understanding of lending products.
• Participate in crop insurance appointments and work alongside a Consumer Lending Specialist.
• Develop knowledge of cross-selling and the 5 C’s of credit for risk analysis.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Ag Business, or an equivalent agriculture or business-related field, with at least two years completed.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, analytical, and influencing skills.
• Effective teamwork skills.
• Ability to use business and financial computer applications.
• Knowledge of farm production methods, products, farm business management, and finance is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
