Engineer, AI & Process Automation (AI)

Location: Washington, DC; four days per week in the office for D.C. and NY employees, or remote

Base salary: $160,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential annual discretionary incentive and benefits.

What you will do

• Scope, build, deploy, launch, and iterate AI and process automation products with Finance, Tax, Human Capital, Legal & Compliance, Marketing & Communications, and other enterprise stakeholders.
• Develop AI-native applications including agentic workflows, LLM-powered analytics, document intelligence pipelines, and human-in-the-loop copilots.
• Automate high-volume workflows from intake and data capture through approvals, exception handling, and downstream system integration.
• Own product delivery and adoption, partnering directly with users to ensure solutions work in real business environments.
• Write production-quality code with testing, code review, deployment hygiene, monitoring, and incremental hardening.
• Create reusable components, evaluation harnesses, prompt and agent patterns, and deployment templates while partnering with infrastructure, data, and security teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics, data science, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of relevant hands-on engineering experience.
• 2+ years building and shipping production AI applications, LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, RAG systems, or copilots to real users.
• Fluency with AI coding agents and developer tools such as Claude Code and Cursor, plus version control, CI/CD, testing, containerization, and cloud deployment.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data at scale, including document intelligence, OCR, LLM-based extraction, and workflow automation.
• Strong coding fundamentals in Python and TypeScript or Java, with comfort across Spark transforms and React front ends.
