Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: USD $160,200–$425,000 per year, plus potential bonus, stock, and other rewards.

What you will do

• Drive how the Copilot Code Review agent reasons, including its context, models, and cross-review memory.
• Partner with model labs and research teams to apply frontier model capabilities to improve code reviews.
• Define review quality and build offline evaluations, online experiments, and production evidence to measure improvement.
• Own the end-to-end review experience across VS Code, the hirify.global Copilot app, hirify.global Copilot CLI, and pull requests.
• Own reliability for a high-throughput service operating at hirify.global scale, including on-call participation.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers while remaining hands-on with experimentation, coding, evaluation development, and workflow evolution.

Requirements

• 11+ years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience; degree-based alternatives are accepted.
• Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Experience owning architecture and difficult technical decisions for large-scale production systems.
• Hands-on experience applying frontier models at scale and evaluating model-driven products.
• Operational experience running distributed services at hirify.global scale, including on-call work.
• Experience building an LLM-backed or agentic production product or partnering with research teams to ship model capabilities.
