Location: Hybrid/Remote (US/UK). Must be able to work in the US or UK as per compensation and role requirements.

Salary: $185,000–$200,000 (US) or £87,000–£100,000 (UK).

What you will do

• Define the technical strategy and roadmap for the program-facing AI portfolio.
• Manage and grow a high-performing team of engineers, applied AI specialists, and QA staff.
• Co-design AI solutions with program experts in health, education, and emergency response.
• Lead technical partnerships with frontier AI organizations like Anthropic and OpenAI.
• Oversee the full development lifecycle, including high-availability architecture on Azure.
• Mature DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code standards.

Requirements

• 7–10+ years in software engineering or technical product development.
• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams as a manager or tech lead.
• Hands-on experience building production AI systems (LLMs, RAG, agentic frameworks).
• Strong full-stack foundation (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Experience with cloud architecture (Azure preferred) and data security practices.
• Ability to operate across global teams and diverse humanitarian contexts.

Nice to have

• Experience deploying AI in low-resource, low-bandwidth, or offline contexts.
• Prior work with humanitarian, development, or global health organizations.
• French or Arabic language skills.
