Transit Intern 195488 (Transportation)

Location: Los Angeles, California, United States; approximately 20 hours per week on-site. Remote work is not offered.

Salary: $22–$26 per hour, depending on skills, experience, education, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Support project engineering and project delivery for transportation projects and public transportation clients across Southern California.
• Collaborate with project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural transit projects.
• Assist with preparing and submitting technical reports, specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Perform additional project duties as needed while working alongside a licensed engineer.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Commitment to actively participating in an employee-owned, collaborative culture.
• Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week on-site in Los Angeles.

Nice to have

• Two years completed toward an engineering degree and a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of software relevant to the field of study or industry.
• Experience with Metrolink, LA Metro, OCTA, or similar transportation client projects.
• Local candidate status.
