Professional Engineer, Transportation - Highway Design

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, based in Bloomington or Duluth, Minnesota

Salary: $89,900–$118,600 per year in Bloomington; $85,400–$112,700 per year in Duluth. Additional compensation may include bonuses and the ESOP.

What you will do

• Prepare design calculations and plans for highway design projects.
• Develop transportation designs from preliminary engineering through final design and construction.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technicians across multiple disciplines.
• Participate in project team meetings and prepare proposals, specifications, and technical reports.
• Mentor and help develop less experienced engineering professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation or highway design.
• Professional registration in the State of Minnesota.
• At least 5 years of highway design, plan development, or related transportation experience.
• Experience with CADD software and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and technical communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with MicroStation and/or OpenRoads.
• Experience collaborating with highway design, traffic, structural, and water resources professionals.
• Knowledge of MnDOT design and plan standards.
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing less experienced engineers.
