Senior Civil Rail Engineer (Rail Infrastructure)

Location: South Flower Street, Los Angeles, California; hybrid

Compensation range: $160,647.46–$183,597.09 annually

What you will do

• Design and advance civil and track elements for rail and transit projects, including alignments, stations, bridges, tunnels, and related facilities.
• Support projects throughout design and construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, and resolving field-related design questions.
• Prepare engineering reports, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Contribute to quality reviews and QA/QC processes.
• Coordinate with project managers, technical leads, clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support budget, schedule, resource, and project-risk tracking.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 13 years of civil engineering experience on rail and transit infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with design and construction-phase services and coordination with contractors, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• High proficiency with MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRail, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of rail and transportation standards such as AREMA, CPUC, AAR, FRA, Metrolink, LA Metro, UPRR, and BNSF.
