Senior Fire Assayer/Supervisor - Onsite

Location: Blackwater Gold Mine, Vanderhoof / Prince George, British Columbia, Canada; onsite with a rotating 2-weeks-in, 2-weeks-out schedule covering days and nights.

Salary: CAD 70,000–90,000 yearly

What you will do

• Coordinate incoming mine-site samples, prioritize workloads, schedule laboratory workflows, and meet client turnaround-time requirements.
• Approve and report assay results while maintaining the quality of data released by onsite laboratory crews.
• Supervise hirify.global onsite personnel, including shift scheduling, performance reviews, training, goal setting, and assessment of development needs.
• Manage client relationships and facilitate meetings with mine-site metallurgists and geologists.
• Lead health and safety meetings, prepare reports, investigate incidents, and implement root-cause corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, records, inventory levels, and preventive-maintenance schedules.

Requirements

• College diploma, certificate, or university degree in chemistry, geochemistry, or a related science discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in wet or fire assay-related work.
• Strong leadership, time-management, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Experience with laboratory instruments, troubleshooting, good laboratory practices, and quality-control standards.
• Proficiency with CCLAS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada; extended hours, shift work, and travel to other hirify.global or client locations may be required.

Nice to have

• BC Registered Assayer Certification.
• 1–3 years of previous supervisory experience, preferably supervising technical staff in a minerals laboratory.
• Experience assisting with site commissioning, new equipment, or laboratory-staff interviews.
